The Code Enforcement Official is responsible for the enforcement of all City codes, such as building, plumbing, mechanical, and zoning ordinance compliance. This includes review of building plans, issuance of permits, inspections, as well as investigations. The Code Enforcement Official is also responsible for sign permits, property address assignment, and ensures compliance with Macon’s flood plain management and nuisance ordinances. Inspectors strive to remove safety hazards, unsightly debris, and deteriorated structures within the City.
